What We Believe

3 Crosses

We believe in one God, Creator of all things, infinitely perfect, and eternally existing in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. These three are identical in essence and equal in power and glory; they possess the same nature, attributes, and perfections, and are worthy of the same worship, confidence, and obedience.

We believe that the Bible is God’s unique, authoritative revelation of himself to man.  We believe all of the Bible is the inspired Word of God and without error in the original writings. It is God’s authoritative direction for our lives here and for eternity in His presence. The Bible is the believer’s only infallible rule for faith and practice.

We believe that man was created in the image of God but fell into sin and is therefore separated from God who is holy. This sin is universal among man (Jesus Christ excepted), and caused all men to born dead in sins and corrupt in nature.  Every person born is alienated from God and cannot remedy his lost and depraved condition apart from God’s grace.

We believe that Jesus Christ is the eternal Son of God, that he became man without ceasing to be God, conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary.  Jesus Christ came to earth to save mankind from the penalty of their sins.  We are redeemed before God because Jesus gave himself and his life in our place on the cross.  Jesus arose bodily from the grave, proving his power over sin and death, and ascended to the Father’s right hand in heaven, where he intercedes on the believer’s behalf.  Man is justified before God by placing trust in Jesus Christ as Lord, and there is no other way of salvation than through Jesus Christ.

We believe that those who accept Jesus Christ as Lord are eternally saved, as this was God’s plan from the beginning.  God provides the Holy Spirit to all believers, which indwells them permanently and empowers them for service.  The Holy Spirit seeks to direct their attention not to themselves nor to their experience, but to Christ.

Just as Jesus Christ came to earth to bring us eternal salvation, He will return for all who have placed their faith and eternal hope in Him. God’s plan will be fulfilled in the establishment of a new heaven and earth and believers will be with Him for eternity. Those who reject His offer of salvation will be separated from Him forever.

Because of these truths, we who trust in Christ for our salvation are given the privilege of being His representatives—to invite others to know Him personally by faith.
