But God is so wise and helpful. His word provides the key to keeping my heart right. Often, I have to consciously make an adjustment in my attitude and outlook to see things the right way. It is calling on God, turning my heart to Him, where I can get back to focusing on how great our God is, rather than my own shortcomings.
Proverbs 15:16 reads, “Better a little with the fear of the LORD than great wealth with turmoil”. It is in turning to God’s word, agreeing with Him and focusing on His ways, that I can find comfort in the midst of struggle. I love and fear God, and so I can trust that this is better than having more without God at the center of my life.
It can be difficult at times to overcome the world’s thinking; but how grateful I am that God is faithful and counsels me with his wisdom when I need it.
