Kristina Edmisten

Kristina Edmisten grew up in southern California. Although her immediate family did not attend church, Kristy’s grandmother was a follower of Christ and a godly influence in her life. Kristy majored in Child Development with an emphasis on Family and Social Issues. She owned a home curriculum-based child care for over seven years before she felt prompted by God to become a full-time stay-at-home mom. She’s been a stay at home mom over five years now and loves the experience she’s gained! She’s been able to be a full part of each of her child’s lives as well as their main teacher in all of life’s issues and daily struggles.

Kristy began attending church in 2003 and accepted Christ as her Savior in 2005. God has used each experience and challenge in her life to grow her closer to him. Kristy loves spending time with her children, teaching, cooking healthy food, outdoor life, farming, music and learning. Her incredible energy and charisma have touched every life she has encountered.

David Edmisten

After years of living in the world’s ways and growing up unchurched, this self-described “heavy metal guy” found and accepted Jesus Christ as Savior in 2005. With God’s help, David has overcome addictions and learned to live by faith to serve God.

After more than ten years in the financial services industry, David felt called by God to leave the corporate world and start an online Christian ministry.  David and Kristy began justopenthebook.com in 2010.  David was the primary writer and technical manager for the website from its inception.  In 2011, David felt God calling him back to his career and returned to the financial services industry full time in August.  While David is no longer active in contributing to this ministry, his past articles are still posted to help inspire faith.

David lives with his wife Kristy and their 4 young children (baby # 5 due later 2011!), where they enjoy homeschooling, outdoor activities, music, games and family fun. He has earned the Accredited Asset Management Specialist designation from the College for Financial Planning and is a graduate of the University of California, Santa Barbara. David is a member of High Tech Ministries in Atlanta and has led small groups in men’s and financial ministries. David enjoy sharing God’s word, writing, speaking, and playing guitar.
